MELTY BLOOD Act Cadenza

Since Family Weekend is coming up this week, I’m going to do my weekly blog entry today just in case I don’t have time or am too lazy to do it later. Anyways, I have been playing a 2D Doujin fighting game for the PC called MELTY BLOOD Act Cadenza ver.B. As you can tell by the name, Act Cadenza is the newest game in the MELTY BLOOD series. The original MELTY BLOOD was released in 2002 and was developed by Type-Moon and French-Bread as a spin-off of Type-Moon’s visual novel Tsukihime. Re-ACT was released in 2004 and ReACT Final Tuned came out in 2005. Act Cadenza was released in arcades in 2006 and ported to the PS2 later that year. Act Cadenza for the PC was released this past summer.

MB White Len Arcade ClearThe girl in the picture is White Len(白レン), my favorite character in Act Cadenza. She is pretty fast and can string combos well. She also has a good assortment of aerial and mid-range attacks. My favorite character in ReACT Final Tuned was Arima Miyako. She’s very fast and has strong close-range ground attacks but she does not have very many good aerial attacks. That’s why I have switched to White Len. You can see them going head-to-head in the video below:

What games are you currently playing?

    Hey Karezuma san,

I think that your point about writing about your feelings for the blog is a good one. I added that to my list on my blog. Hey, also how do you know so much Kanji? I think that’s really cool. Do you watch a lot of anime? Do you want to do something related to Japan for a career or just in the future?

    Thanks Yeh-san.

I know some Kanji that we haven’t learned in class but most of it I have to look up online or in my dictionary. I also watch a ridiculous amount of anime so I know a bunch of random words. As for my career, I would like to work in Japan.

Wow, that’s cool. How long did you live in Japan?Where did you live? I’ve only been to Japan three times in my twenty wise years. My grandparents live in Hiroshima. They are one of the reasons that I want to learn Japanese. There is a language barrier and I really want to break that. Also, what kind of anime do you watch? My brother watches Naruto and that’s where I learn the term “Ikuze”, which I don’t really understand but I think it’s something like “I’m going to do it.” in a determined voice, i guess. Actually, I don’t really know. haha. Anyways, yaya, tell me more!

I lived in Sasebo in Nagasaki Prefecture. I went there (I think) after the 1991 eruption of Mount Pinatubo in the Philippines and stayed until right before my sixth birthday so about 4 years.

I don’t really watch mainstream anime like Naruto. I watch mainly drama, comedy, romance and some action. You can check out this post or this post to see a more detailed list of what I like. As for “ikuze,” “ze” is an end particle that indicates assertion like “yo” but is used mainly by guys and some tomboys and is considered impolite.
