Winter 2008 Anime

A new year begins and so does a new anime season. Unlike last season, there aren’t as many new series starting. I am planning to watch the following:

Unfortunately, there aren’t many shows that really peak my interest. Of the nine series I have listed, only the first five have me excited. The last four I am only watching because there seems to be a good deal of interest behind those series so I’ll watch them just in case they end up being good. Here are videos and some very short descriptions since I don’t know much about any of these yet:

Shigofumi is about a girl dressed up as a mail carrier who delivers the last message of a deceased person and delivers it to that person’s loved one. Very interesting concept.

H2O Rocks Your Soul! lol

I expect to shed a bucket of true tears after watching this.

Minami-ke Okawari is the sequel to the original Minami-ke, the biggest surprise coming out of the past season for me. Can’t wait for this.

Moegaku★5 is an anime/live-action hybrid based on an English language learning game. Each 15 minute episode will feature a different language corresponding to the day of the week (Monday: English, Tuesday: Korean, Wednesday: Spanish, Thursday: Chinese, Friday: French). Given that it will air from 5:00-5:15 PM, kids will be able to watch it so hopefully the language lessons are accurate.

What’s everyone else looking forward to?
