According to Moon Phase, Studio DEEN’s adaptation of 07th Expansion’s current work, Umineko no Naku Koro ni, will be making its anime appearance this summer. As a fan of the sound novels, I’m really excited to see how this will turn out. The biggest question on my mind is how Studio DEEN will be able to incorporate some of the stuff from the sound novels such as the meta-verse interludes and red/blue text and how much story compression will take place given the lengths of episode 3 and 4. I have some ideas on how that would be done but I’ll just wait and see. I think I’ll be happy as long as it is for the most part true to the original novels.

Too bad… it is sure to end in a cliffhanger since the damn novel is nowhere finished

A cliffhanger ending is to be expected unfortunately. Of course that’s much more preferable than a terrible original ending.
