Surprisingly Ryukishi07 already does well enough with his limited art ability. I think the main advantage of having PEACH-PIT's art is that it will make it easier for casual players to get interested in the game. @Southrop: I haven't read through the Higurashi novels since the translation is slow and I don't have the time right now to wade through the original Japanese.
