[Lyrics] Fortune Arterial: Akai Yakusoku ED – I miss you [Veil]

fortune-arterial-akai-yakusoku-ed

I miss you is a fairly simply song that heavily repeats the phrase “I miss you.” Verses 2 and 3 also have some interesting structural parallels with 5 and 6 but there really isn’t much else to say about the lyrics. It’s pleasant to listen to at least. The CD itself has multiple versions of the song with the two singers Aoi and misuzu singing in solos and duets with regular and guitar renditions. It also has rock version of the opening song which I’ll do at some point.

Romaji

I miss you

Mabushii kurai e ni kaita jikan na no
Sou ima wa…

Kawarihajimeta Machinami ni me wo sorashi
Omoide wa, Tada iu no
Soko de tomadou dake

I miss you
Omoi wo sono mama dakishimete
I miss you
Kawaranu omoi wo shiritai no
I miss you
Negatteru kara
I miss you..

Miageta sora wa futari daku tenohira yo
Toki koete…

Sagashimotometa Hitogomi ni Sugaritsuki
“Aitai” to nurete iku
Hitomi tojite iku no

I miss you
Ima demo anata wo kanjiru yo
I miss you
Asu ni wa aeru to shinjiteru
I miss you
Aishiteru kara
I miss you..

I miss you
Omoi wo sono mama dakishimete
I miss you
Kawaranu omoi wo shiritai no
I miss you
Negatteru kara
I miss you..

English Translation

I miss you

Like a moment of time captured in a dazzling painting,
That is how the present feels…

Averting my eyes from the city streets that have begun to change,
My memories whisper to me saying
“You’re just at a loss.”

I miss you
Keep embracing your feelings
I miss you
I want to know your unchanging feelings
I miss you
I’ll always long for you, so
I miss you…

The sky we looked up at embraces us in it’s hands.
Time passes…

Clinging to the crowd that I searched,
“I want to see you” I cry in tears.
I close my eye.

I miss you
Even now I feel you
I miss you
I believe that I can see you tomorrow
I miss you
I love you, so
I miss you…

I miss you
Keep embracing your feelings
I miss you
I want to know your unchanging feelings
I miss you
I’ll always long for you, so
I miss you…

Kanji

I miss you

眩しいくらい絵に描いた時間なの
そう今は…

変りはじめた 街並みに目をそらし
思い出は、ただ言うの
そこで途惑うだけ

I miss you
思いをそのまま抱きしめて
I miss you
変らぬ思いを知りたいの
I miss you
願ってるから
I miss you..

見上げた空は二人抱く掌よ
時 越えて…

探し求めた 人混みに すがりつき
「会いたい」と濡れていく
瞳閉じていくの

I miss you
今でもあなたを感じるよ
I miss you
明日には会えると信じてる
I miss you
愛してるから
I miss you..

I miss you
思いをそのまま抱きしめて
I miss you
変らぬ思いを知りたいの
I miss you
願ってるから
I miss you..

When I was browsing through VNDB.org, Fortune Arterial caught my eye due the decent ratings it received. I do not know why, but the art, character designs, as well as the story seemed to grabbed my attention since I was in the mood for something different after I completed Little Busters! Ecstacy. My reluctance in downloading Fortune Arterial was due to the fact that I could not find a stable translation software to comfortably play the game.

With the release of the anime as well as learning that Lia was involved with both the anime and the visual novel, I decided to put as much effort as I can to get the visual novel in working order. To my surprise, getting the visual novel was rather quick, but getting the translation software up and running took most of my time lol. After a good week of roaming around the Hongfire forums, I can finally play Fortune Arterial on my computer =D (Vista is a “you know what” in causing obstacles.)

With Lia and her team “Veil”, I was VERY excited that this day has come. Her singles Kizanairo and I Miss You are finally in my anime collections and I enjoy them VERY much ^_^ I still give my continued thanks to you Honya, for translating a lovely song that makes me feel relaxed everytime I listen to it, just like any other of Lia’s soft musical pieces.

Note: I did not realize that I would type this much O_O

P.S. Check your email about blog interest XD

Another note: I will say that the cover of “I Miss You” looks rather, sexy? Appealing? Eye Catching? Maybe it is just me, the picture seems to offer a different “feel” in contrast to the song. XD

Oh, just out of curiosity. Can anyone get a “clean” verson of the CD cover? Erika’s pose right there looks pretty attractive and I would like to get a cleaner and higher quality for a new desktop background : )

Hmm Honya, wondering whether you’ll translate Energy from Last Inferno Single, from The Legend of the Legendary Heroes?

Most likely not as I haven’t watched the show and I usually like knowing the context before I translate. If I like it I might change my mind.

I’ve been comparing your translation to the ones we can find on subbed episodes of the song, and it seems like the translations are way off. I’m not saying yours are way off, or that you are wrong, but they are really too different.

They don’t seem that different to me. The meaning is more or less the same. It could be because I have a more literal style of translation.

hmm. You do have a point. Sorry. I didn’t mean to sound like I’m finding fault with your translation. I don’t know anything about Japanese, but I just found it weird that the words in some parts would be so different. I’m really glad that I can understand the song more with the help of your translation.

I’ve been listening to the different versions, but they don’t kinda make much sense in the part where which singer is ‘playing’ which character? Obviously the song is about longing for someone you love, but on listening to the “Aoi to misuzu” versions and “misuzu to Aoi” versions, they sound reversed. You’d expect Aoi to be the one singing “I miss you” to misuzu on the “Aoi to misuzu” version, but it’s misuzu that sings the words. Someone enlighten me on this? Maybe my depiction of the song is wrong…..

Not quite sure what you mean. Maybe I just need to listen to the different versions more.
