I knew that it was going to be hard to take care of business this summer, but I didn’t think I would be the one making it hard on myself. I slept straight through a job interview today, squandering my only opportunity to find decent work this summer. Now I’m going to be stuck working fast food.

I wonder if they serve Cabbage Love at Mickey D’s…

But that’s not even the whole story. The painfully slow dial-up connection I have to deal with at home is pretty much impossible to work with, leaving me without a means to either continue torrenting new episodes of Code Geass or Kanokon, or to post decent reviews of those episodes - so I essentially have to drop both of them. In addition, I’ve missed the latest Imperium Project deadline by a mile and haven’t the slightest idea how to cure the writer’s block that contributed to that.

Considering all this, I’m going to have to put Taishou in hibernation for the summer. There’s just no way I can keep up with it without the resources and motivation I had while I was at school. It was probably an example of bad foresight to start any kind of serious blog when I knew that I’d face handicaps little more than a month later.

I can’t say when my next post will be, or what it will be about. I know I’ve broken promises, but I won’t completely forget about Taishou… so if you happen to be reading this, don’t completely forget about me. Okay?

  1. Sounds terrible missing the interview.

Looks like we will both have to make up for missing the TIP deadline. Don’t know how that will go since I have been diverting resources to my own projects instead of TIP.

Also if you want, I can try to keep Taishou on life support by blogging R2.

  2. Yeah gotta watch those interview timing. I set up an alarm on pretty much everything I own to keep time for those. I hope you at least forced yourself to write an apology to them afterwards (awkward, but better than nothing).

Dialup is just harsh. I remember the days when I had to keep online for an entire day and endure the rage of my parents for a SINGLE episode of anime. Well, you could always look into the cable/DSL availability of your area and try to convince your parents into ordering cable yourself for three months of summer. If you do though, make sure you go pick up the modem and perform the installation yourself… the installation fee is definitely not worth it for a task so simple.
