Manga Debut: Moon Breaker!

moon-breaker-title-page

Hello everyone! Things have gotten pretty busy for me within the past year so I haven’t really had the free time to do anything on the blog. However, I wanted to share something I’ve been spending a lot of time on lately. For the past few weeks, Anya and I have been furiously working on a manga for a sci-fi comic competition. It’s called Moon Breaker and stars Lyra, a would-be Assault Shroud pilot turned analyst after her dreams came crashing down.

Please check out the first two episodes! We hope you enjoy the story and please rate, favorite, and share Moon Breaker with others. We would also love to hear your comments especially so we can make it even better! Look forward to the next episode!

Beta Readers Needed for Sweets & Steel

Anya has recently released the beta draft for the novel she has been working on for the past few years so I’d like to take a little time to feature it. First off, I’ll let Anya’s own words describe what it is about:

Sweets & Steel (tentative title) is a novel about our possibilities in becoming who we want to be. It revolves around the relationship between an insecure transgender girl trying to find herself, and Flan, a cynical mech test pilot trapped by her past. It is a story of familial relations, identity, sexuality, and the choices we make.

And a teahouse full of lesbians.

I’ve been following her progress for a while and helped a little along the way (I drew the cover for example) so I’ve seen various aspects change while others remains about the same. I think it’s a wonderful story and I’ve grown to love the characters throughout the various iterations as things gradually fell into place. I’ve found my heart racing from touching character moments to exciting action scenes. However, I don’t want to gush about my adoration too long. Instead, I’d rather you use that time to read Anya’s beta draft yourself and come to your own conclusions! She could really use more beta readers to go through her story and give her constructive feedback to improve things further.

Please visit the official site for more details about how you can help and to get the download links of course! She’ll be looking forward to your feedback!

Spring 2014 Anime Watch List

spring-2014-anime

Just as always, my watch list ended up longer than I had anticipated. It’s okay though since most of the shows I’ve been watching from past seasons have wrapped up. There are the usual magical girl and idol stuff I watch of course, but it seems like there will be more sci-fi and action shows for me to indulge in. Since I’m low on time, I’ve decided to skip specials and movies this time around. Anyway, on to the list!

Winter 2014 Anime Watch List

winter-2014-anime

Happy New Year! With 2014 around the corner ready to bring the new season with it, I’ve finally gotten around to compiling my winter watch list. When I did a quick look at all the shows for the winter season I thought there weren’t too many I was interested in. After a more thorough look however, my list ended up fuller than I had originally estimated. Sequels, a remake and a new entry in a franchise pad out the list but there are a fair number of new shows I’m looking forward to. This time I didn’t bother to add any commentary to the OVAs/Movies sections since they’re all related to things I’ve watched before. Anyway let’s get started!

Fall 2013 Anime Watch List

fall-2013-anime

The time has finally come to be fashionably late posting the list of shows I plan to watch this season. This time around I’ve tried to limit the number of shows I plan to follow due to time constraints. In fact I haven’t even watched some of the things I was planning to from last season. The list is shorter than normal since I decided to forgo a few shows I was only sorta interested in. With that said it’s not as small as it could be but I think it is a much more manageable and might give me a chance to catch up on some older series included stuff from the aforementioned previous season. Interestingly enough the list contains a lot more action-oriented material than usual which might be a nice change of pace. As for the OVAs and Movies sections, I’ve once again omitted writing explanations if it’s obvious why I’m watching something and don’t have anything important to say. I also haven’t listed stuff I have mentioned in previous posts. Anyway, that’s enough of an intro so onto the list!
