It took me a while but I finally decided to do Mai-Otome for this week’s chalkboard yuri. From a technical standpoint it may not be perfect but during its initial airing there was no other show that entertained me as much which is surprising since a lot of my other favorites also aired at the same time. It still stands as one of my favorite series ever and at the time was the inspiration for some of my own original Otome design drawings. I remember staying up late for the two part finale which was an amazing amount of fun since it had basically everything I wanted.
Original screencap from the episode preview for episode 6 that was the basis of this week’s drawing:
Sunrise, I’m still waiting for my next Mai series!!

Since the beginning of the semester several friends and I have been playing our way through the Xbox 360 game Tales of Vesperia. Almost every week we would gather for “Vesperia Friday” and play for several hours until we beat the game two nights ago. Now that we have finally finished I can now reflect on the experience and say that it was a good one. Since plenty of professional and amateur writers have already covered the game in depth I’ll skip over the technical details and focus on my impressions of the main playable cast.

For the past 3 days I’ve been missing in action on the internets due to Nekocon 12. After getting tired of not ever going to conventions with my friends I decided this year that I would finally go to one. Though my wallet is aching in the end it was definitely worth the price and time I paid. Get ready for a ridiculously long write up of my Nekocon adventure.

Even though Eri is my favorite idol from Dearly Stars, Ryo’s image song Dazzling World is probably my favorite new song. As the name suggests the song is about an eternal love that illuminates the entire world. I really like the lyrics and the flow of the song and just pretty much everything. Also Ryo looks so cute on the cover that I keep forgetting that she’s a boy…Anyway I hope you enjoy the song:

Unlike only my railgun Dear My Friend is a much simpler song. However that doesn’t mean I enjoy it any less. It’s such a happy song that I worked on translation in a relaxed manner with a smile. I hope this song brings other “Railgunners” just as many smiles.

I know that the full version of this song has been floating around the internet for a while but I’m happy that the single officially came out today so that I could work on translating it. This song was somewhat tricky to translate but it was definitely worthwhile. After I finished I read through the entire song and Kuroko sounds so cool singing about her Railgun. ED coming up hopefully soon but enjoy this for now.

Since Eri is still currently my favorite iM@S DS idol I felt obligated to translate this song. It’s a nice song about opening up and starting all over again just like how Eri did. I’m planning to work on the other new iM@S songs sometime as well. For now I hope you enjoy Precog (PURIKOGU):

Several days after Windows 7’s launch I have finally got it up and running on my desktop and I’m glad to say that it seems to live up to its hype. It combines the things I like about the two previous iterations of Windows with good updates to keep it from feeling too much like a rehash of Vista. Microsoft seems to have hit a success with a genuinely good product that fixes the issues both inherent and perceived that many people had with Vista.

Just when I had forgotten about the upcoming Macross F movie (due mid-November), a new single from Sheryl Nome (voiced by rising idol May’n) appeared! “pink monsoon” is a steamy song that really brings out Sheryl’s sultry idol image – my face was all red as I translated the lines!
This is my first time translating a song for Lyrical Spark (that’s usually Honya’s job) so all the Engrish helped make this job suitably easy. I hope I did a decent job…
