Posts that encompass a wide range of otaku topics

After years of hiding my deepest, darkest fetish I can no longer hold back. Every time I drew Yuri on the Chalkboard it was merely an exercise in denial, a self-imposed delusion convincing myself that I only like other girls. However my heart can no longer bear the the weight of such fallacies. I’m coming out! I’m actually a yaoi-loving fujoshi!

nanoha-fate-family

Exactly two years ago I posted “my ideal family” if it were to consist of anime, manga and game characters. Basically the idea came to me when I stumbled on an amazing thread randomly in which people would post a list of characters to form a family. Think of Kyouran Kazoku Nikki and that’s pretty much the basic premise. I found the idea so amusing that I started seriously thinking about it and after some major contemplation I posted my list a few days later. Suddenly two years have passed and I’ve finally gotten around to updating my family roster. I’ve been planning to redo it for a while since I have an even bigger “gene pool” from which to select family members from. The list is divided into the family I grew up with and the family I raise as an adult. Continue on for some strange shenanigans.

mokou-watches-neet-kaguya

If I didn’t think it looked horribly wordy I would have subtitled this post “Stepping into a past decade before exiting the current one” or something similar. Thanks to Shance I rediscovered the Anime Otaku-ness Test 200, a 200 question assessment of one’s otaku power-level. The test is terribly out-of-date but I think it is a good primer for letting people get to know me a little better. I’ve taken a few of the more interesting questions for me and explained my answers right here. I hope this will be a pleasant insight into who I am.

neko_kitties100

For the past 3 days I’ve been missing in action on the internets due to Nekocon 12. After getting tired of not ever going to conventions with my friends I decided this year that I would finally go to one. Though my wallet is aching in the end it was definitely worth the price and time I paid. Get ready for a ridiculously long write up of my Nekocon adventure.

Yesterday me and a bunch of friends took a trip to Washington DC to attend this year’s Sakura Matsuri. For those who do not know, Sakura Matsuri is the largest one-day exhibition of Japanese Culture in the United States and is part of the two-week National Cherry Blossom Festival sponsored by the Japan-America Society of Washington DC.

I’ll remember to watch the actual award ceremony on the 7th from NicoNico Douga or something.

According to the Belfast Telegraph, Illusion‘s 3D rape-simulation title RapeLay was taken down from online retailer Amazon when British MP Keith Vaz got wind that such a title was being offered for purchase. He vowed to bring the issue to the British Parliament in order to prevent the game from being sold and in response Amazon removed the game from its website. umineko-4-group-shot

First day of school started for me today and it looks like Japanese and various science classes will be keeping me as busy as ever this semester so I decided to write about what I want to accomplish so that I will not forget as the year progresses. Since things will only get more hectic from now on I need to get my priorities straightened out. Of course many of these will be otaku-related but some goals may spill over into my schoolwork or elsewhere.
