The karuta version of Ichiban no Takaramono is slightly different from the Yui Version. The main difference is that verses 1 and 4 are completely unique to each version. There are also a few changes scattered around the song but most are variations of “you” to “everyone.” I’m not sure which one I like more. When possible I kept the sentence structure of the translations the same between versions. Anyway enjoy the original version of the lyrics.

Here’s the single that many people have been waiting for. Ichiban no Takaramono (My Most Precious Treasure) played at the end of episode 10 and towards the end of episode 13. Both were really emotional scenes of departure and the song really fits that motif. Apparently these are lyrics for the Yui Version but I think they are the same as the version sung by karuta. Anyway please enjoy my translation!

It’s a little later than usual but here are translations for one of the two insert songs played in episode 10. The other song hasn’t been released yet. Anyway I’ll be doing the other two songs on the Little Braver single later even though I doubt they’ll be played in any subsequent episodes considering what happened in episode 10. For now have fun with this!

Here is the ending song of Angel Beats! The lyrics capture Kanade so well that I can envision her singing this song and all the accompanying imagery. Tada Aoi’s pleasant voice also adds to the illusion so Brave Song just edges out My Soul, Your Beats! as my favorite of the two theme songs. I hope to hear more songs from her in the future. I hope they release the LiSA AKA Yui version on the next single (so that I have one less song to do). The ED translation is coming soon but have fun with this for the time being.

Now that the season is halfway over it’s time for a quick rundown of what I think about the season thus far. The two standout shows for me this season should be quite easy to guess. Thanks in part through the power of music Angel Beats and K-ON continue to remain at the top of my list. I don’t foresee that changing but the season has some other shows that I enjoy. Here’s the final song on the Thousand Enemies single. Just like Rain Song I don’t believe this has aired in the anime yet but I did it anyway since it will show up eventually. Since I’m busy this week I’ll go back and check all three sets of lyrics later to do some fine-tuning but they should be fine as is for the time being. Enjoy.
