After something like over 2 weeks since the release of Firefox 3.6 I finally got around to upgrading. If it weren’t for a friend telling me I wouldn’t have known since Firefox never did notify me that an update was available. Anyway the big thing with this update is the introduction of Personas which are kind of like themes. Of course the first thing I did after the update was to search for some otaku-related ones on the Personas for Firefox site. There are a decent number available but most of them are not that great. I also wish people tagged their personas better so that I can actually search the database easier. Of the ones I stumbled upon I found a dozen decent ones to use.

Two days ago Four Leaf Studios released their highly anticipated demo for the Original English-Language Visual Novel Katawa Shoujo. Katawa Shoujo has come a long way since the “Grid1″ demo leaked over a year and a half ago. Every aspect has essentially been changed or replaced to make a professional-quality product that sets the bar for all other OELVNs to come.

After nearly 2 years since its initial inceptions, Four Leaf Studios has finally launched a site for Katawa Shoujo that isn’t a forum for game development and discussion!! It has a nice clean layout and all the usual things you would expect from a professional game site included a short description of the story, character bios, samples, downloads and staff credits.
The front page has links to the forums and dev blog of course but the coolest thing is the rotating quotes that come up which link to all the different characters. For example “Can you see what I see?” links to Lilly’s section of the character page.
