With only a little more than a month before PSP game Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker makes its North American debut I’ve been gobbling up every bit of related material I can find online. Somehow I stumbled on to this strange fanmade video of Big Boss doing sketchy things to one of the game’s main characters Paz. Did I mention she’s still in her teens and in only in underwear making it all the more creepy/hilarious/mind-blowing depending on your take? If you have 3 minutes to spare and can brace yourself for some “what!?” then you should watch this video. The first 45 seconds or so are of Big Boss taking photos of Paz and chasing her down with his camera while she tells him not to. Then Big Boss trades in his camera for a stun rod and continues running after her while the Psycho shower scene music plays for another 45 seconds. Using some CQC Big Boss grabs hold of Paz and interrogates her. She says stuff like “I’m…Paz…I love…peace…” and “It hurts…Let go of me…” At the very end he slams her down on the ground after which a cutscene starts. Paz walks away while Big Boss yells for her to come back and the game over music plays. At the end I pretty much had nothing else to say because my brain was fried.
I’m looking forward to this game so much. I’m set on getting this launch day and since I don’t have a PSP yet I’ll be getting the Big Boss Pack which will include the following:
“Camouflage” PSP-3000 system
METAL GEAR SOLID: PEACE WALKER game on UMD
Voucher for in-game content unlockable early on in the game
PlayStation Network downloadable movie voucher — title to be announced
4GB Memory Stick PRO Duo
Premium carrying case
It’s going to be so cool except the part where I’ll lose the PSP due to the camo paint job. I can’t wait until June 8 when I can be advertised Doritos, Moutain Dew, Pepsi, Axe body spray, etc.
So have you ever felt like doing something after watching an anime? You know the strange sensation to live out what just happened to recreate the magic, get in touch with characters or something else. Okay maybe not everyone does that but as embarrassed as I am I admit to doing that quite a bit. Well I’ve been feeling like that ever since watching the latest episode of Angel Beats. I wanted to understand the one thing that Kanade was looking forward to after Yuri ruined her life. Aorii and I went out to get some dinner and brought back some mapo tofu from a local Chinese restaurant. It was great. I can sympathize even more with her and how she was denied her one simple pleasure. Read the rest of this entry »
As promised here is the full version of Love Deterrence. It’s significantly longer than the Paz Special Version. I’m so excited for Peace Walker it’s amazing. I can’t wait to buy myself the Big Boss PSP Bundle. Then it’ll be all over. Anyway enjoy some Nana goodness. Read the rest of this entry »
Never would I have imagined that I would be translating a Nana song for a Metal Gear game. As soon as I saw the video today I knew I had to translate this song. It seems so out of place in Metal Gear but I can’t help but love the strangeness of blending two of my favorite things together. I knew Kojima loved his gravure idols but I guess he also loves anisong and virtual idols as well. Kojima’s trolls are always the best trolls. I’ll update this entry when the single comes out April 7 but have fun with this for now.
Exactly two years ago I posted “my ideal family” if it were to consist of anime, manga and game characters. Basically the idea came to me when I stumbled on an amazing thread randomly in which people would post a list of characters to form a family. Think of Kyouran Kazoku Nikki and that’s pretty much the basic premise. I found the idea so amusing that I started seriously thinking about it and after some major contemplation I posted my list a few days later. Suddenly two years have passed and I’ve finally gotten around to updating my family roster. I’ve been planning to redo it for a while since I have an even bigger “gene pool” from which to select family members from. The list is divided into the family I grew up with and the family I raise as an adult. Continue on for some strange shenanigans. Read the rest of this entry »
For the past 3 days I’ve been missing in action on the internets due to Nekocon 12. After getting tired of not ever going to conventions with my friends I decided this year that I would finally go to one. Though my wallet is aching in the end it was definitely worth the price and time I paid. Get ready for a ridiculously long write up of my Nekocon adventure. Read the rest of this entry »
For those of you who don’t know, TGS stands for the Tokyo Game Show, a convention held at the Makuhari Messe (幕張メッセ) in Chiba Prefecture showing off some of the newest games yet to be released. With the demise of E3 (under the guise of “restructuring”), TGS will undoubtedly become the most important gaming expo in the world. Seriously, I don’t even remember anything big announced at E3 this year. Anyways, TGS lasts 4 days; the first 2 days are dedicated business days while the final 2 days are open to the general public. With that said, TGS has always had a higher attendance than E3 due to the public being able to attend. Read the rest of this entry »
