Exactly two years ago I posted “my ideal family” if it were to consist of anime, manga and game characters. Basically the idea came to me when I stumbled on an amazing thread randomly in which people would post a list of characters to form a family. Think of Kyouran Kazoku Nikki and that’s pretty much the basic premise. I found the idea so amusing that I started seriously thinking about it and after some major contemplation I posted my list a few days later. Suddenly two years have passed and I’ve finally gotten around to updating my family roster. I’ve been planning to redo it for a while since I have an even bigger “gene pool” from which to select family members from. The list is divided into the family I grew up with and the family I raise as an adult. Continue on for some strange shenanigans.

Taking a break from playing Moon. and with roughly a month left until the start of the summer anime season, I decided to comb through the new shows to compile my quarterly anime watch list. As far as I am concerned the lineup seems to be strong with plenty of variety catering to many of my interests. Now onto my list.

As I have mentioned before, I wasn’t initially too terribly impressed with this season’s lineup so I have given the few shows I do follow some time to pick up before trying to write something. It’s been a month a so far but the season still as a whole seems rather underwhelming. Although there are decent amount of shows I am enjoying, it’s nothing compared to the number of shows I went crazy over last season. Anyways, onto the impressions:

Compared to last season’s incredible lineup, this season is looking a little sparse. Many of the new shows premiering in the coming weeks didn’t really catch my interest and those that did are mostly sequels and or OVAs. That isn’t too say there aren’t any gems but I will be playing the waiting game before diving into any new properties. Anyways, onto my watch list.

This past Sunday night while trying not to fall asleep finishing my sakubun writing assignment, I did the usual thing for this kind of situation and started lurking on /a/. Luckily, I found a mildly amusing thread in which Anons would post their ideal families if they consisted of anime characters. The amusing and often ridiculous combinations people came up with got myself thinking, “what would my idealized animu family look like?” After much deliberation, I present my picks for my perfect family.

It seems kind of weird to me but I’ve already made it to my fiftieth post on リリカル☆スパーク! Not bad for something I started as homework for my Japanese 101 class (and continuing on for 102). The big 50 also coincides with my birthday. That’s right, today I am a 19 year old otaku who has managed to NOT become a Hikikomori nor a NEET.
