Sasuga Japanese Bookstore was having a sale this week including 50% off of all in stock calenders so I decided to order SquareEnix’s Higurashi no Naku Koro ni 2009 Calender nearly two months after the start of the year. This calender features 12 full-color illustrations drawn by the various Higurashi manga-ka ranging from the cute to the just plain awesome. Since there isn’t much to say when talking about calenders, let’s just move onto the pictures:
Mutsuki (睦月, January) Illustration: Karin Suzuragi
Kisaragi (如月, February) Illustration: Yutori Houjyou
Yayoi (弥生, March) Illustration: Jiro Suzuki
Udzuki (卯月, April) Illustration: Yoshiki Tonogai
Satsuki (皐月, May) Illustration: Hinase Momoyama
Minatsuki (水無月, June) Illustration: Mimori
Fumidzuki (文月, July) Illustration: Karin Suzuragi
Hadzuki (葉月, August) Illustration: Yutori Houjyou
Nagatsuki (長月, September) Illustration: Mimori
Kannadzuki (神無月, October) Illustration: Yoshiki Tonogai
Shimotsuki (霜月, November) Illustration: Hinase Momoyama
Shiwasu (師走, December) Illustration: Jiro Suzuki
My favorite piece is the one for November by Momoyama which makes Rika and Hanyuu look plain cool followed by July and January both by Suzuragi which prominently features my favorite character Rena. I can’t wait until these months roll around.

Hehe, I have this calendar too! My friend gave it to me as a christmas present, which surprised me because he always makes fun of my Higurashi obsession. ^^ It’s up on my wall, and it’s a pretty awesome calendar. Nice to see Higurashi art I haven’t seen before, since I pretty much collect everything I find (online).

Higurashi is one of my favorite series period so I can understand the obsession. I pretty much collect anything Higurashi-related that I find.
