EDIT: I finally added an English translation since I noticed that no one has done it yet. Some of the lines were a little difficult to translate but hopefully it turned out okay. Whenever possible I tried to word the lyrics to keep it sounding like a game match.

Ryukishi07 and PEACH-PIT Team Up for PSP Game!?
According to Dengeki Online, KONAMI announced a new game for the Sony PSP entitled “Ookamikakushi” to be directed by Ryukishi07 of Higurashi fame with character design left to manga-ka duo PEACH-PIT. The title is a play on words and roughly translates to “Hidden by the Great God” or “Hidden by the Wolf” and in typical Ryukishi07 fashion will be a serious mystery novel. Date of release and price have yet to be announced.
Here’s my rough translation of the story summary from the official site:
A God? A Wolf?
The old town’s concealed law…Fear and mystery blend together.
The summer of Showa 58 (1983). Everyone’s expectations become entangled by the repeating nightmare and 10 stories become chained together…What in the world is the truth!?

神か？ 狼か？
旧市街の隠された掟…恐怖と謎が交錯する。
昭和58年夏。繰り返される悪夢に人それぞれの思惑が絡み合い、10のストーリーが連鎖する…真実はいったい何なのか!?
The description is very vague right now but I’m excited for this game since I love Ryukishi07’s stories but of course what makes this particularly appealing is one reason–it will most likely actually have good art.

Umineko Anime due out July!
According to Moon Phase, Studio DEEN’s adaptation of 07th Expansion’s current work, Umineko no Naku Koro ni, will be making its anime appearance this summer. As a fan of the sound novels, I’m really excited to see how this will turn out. The biggest question on my mind is how Studio DEEN will be able to incorporate some of the stuff from the sound novels such as the meta-verse interludes and red/blue text and how much story compression will take place given the lengths of episode 3 and 4. I have some ideas on how that would be done but I’ll just wait and see. I think I’ll be happy as long as it is for the most part true to the original novels.

My Gundam 30th Project: 1/100 Gundam Avalanche Exia
Right now, Gundam fans around the world are celebrating the official 30th anniversary of the appearance of the original RX-78-2 Gundam (which was today, by the way), so I figured I would do my part with a review of my recently-completed 1/100 scale Gundam Avalanche Exia Gunpla!

49th Annual Sakura Matsuri Street Festival
Yesterday me and a bunch of friends took a trip to Washington DC to attend this year’s Sakura Matsuri. For those who do not know, Sakura Matsuri is the largest one-day exhibition of Japanese Culture in the United States and is part of the two-week National Cherry Blossom Festival sponsored by the Japan-America Society of Washington DC.
