Being perpetually short on money, I have been resisting the urge to buy anything not necessary to my survival but I am finding it increasingly difficult to do so. The last figure I bought was the GOOD SMILE COMPANY 1/8 Takamachi Nanoha to complement my ALTER 1/8 Fate Testarossa. I really like those two but the lack of any new figures is saddening.
After seeing the Max Factory 1/8 Sawatari Makoto next to the matching Max Factory 1/8 Tsukimiya Ayu, I knew I had to pre-order my copy before every other Key fan on the intertubes beat me to it. The pose is simply amazing and looks exactly the same as the opening of Kanon (2006).The problem now is that I need to get my hands on Ayu and my only option at the moment is through eBay so I need to figure out what to do about that. In addition, I need to somehow justify these purchases so that I don’t feel bad about diverting college funds to my hobbies. I really need a (summer) job at a place like Michael’s since I basically know where everything is already and I could get a discount on my (expensive) art supplies.
So that I am not just complaining about money matters, I would also like to mention a figure that I would like to be made. Of course, the obvious choice for me would be the rest of the Kanon girls by Max Factory but aside from that, my next choice is Yagami Hayate. I like Nanoha and Fate but the each have like 5 figures while poor Hayate has none. Even Reinforce Zwei has a pretty nice figure. I just want a 1/8 scale Hayate, preferably A’s version, to complete my Nanoha trinity.
Also, since my Spring Break has started, I’ll try sculpting my own figure after finishing all the character draft work on the Imperium Project since the deadline is March 10, the Monday classes resume. I’ll probably make one of one of my own original characters or one from the Imperium Project but I don’t know how it will turn out since I have always been better at 2-D art than 3-D.

Alter’s Fate is so awesome :3
I’d second that Hayate figure; she totally deserves one. Personally, I’d go for Tsukezuka Hiroyuki’s Hayate the Meister. Now would be a really bad time though, since I still have my Exelica and Rein figures coming.
Oh, and good luck with not getting any more figures; I myself have spent about 563 USD on figures alone, and I still find it hard to stop.
hey Honya, it’s break, get on AIM more =P
Too bad there isn’t a PVC version of that or this because I know I would buy it. I still find it funny that my drive to get a part time job is partly because I want more figures. Maybe I’ll start doing art commissions, something I have never once considered, if there is a reasonable amount of interest.
You’re in luck!
Hayate and Vita are in the works by Alter, if the photos from WF2008 was any indication (unless I’m horribly wrong)
I can understand, and feel what you mean when you say “short on money”…
Aya Kyunik’s last blog post..THE iDOLGE@SS
Ah, I didn’t realize that but thinking back, I do remember seeing some nice Nanoha figures from WF2008. Oh lord, Japan wants to take my money again.
